Trying to give every child a voice, a way to communicate, a hope for a better future........Life is Good:) I am a speech pathologist working for St. Mary's County Public Schools. I have been a licensed speech therapist for 18 years. I work with some amazing children and each child is unique. I am always looking for the best ways to enhance my students' communication skills. If a child isn't making progress, then it is clear, we need to work harder, as a team, to help that child reach his/her full potential. My students have diagnoses that range from autism to cerebral palsy to stuttering to language impairment to down syndrome to cognitive impairment. You name it!! It is a vast ever changing caseload. It can be very demanding and stressful at times but when you see a child speak or use their "voice" for the first time, and you are a big part of helping them communicate... it is truly amazing!!!
