99% of my students are eligible for free lunch. They live in low income communities and are sometimes exposed to crime and violence. These student's live a sometimes chaotic and traumatic life. My office could be a refuge for them were they can feel safe and get ready to learn.
I am asking for an iPod and headphones that scholars can use to alleviate stress with soothing music. They can relax on bean bag chairs, which will lay on a comfortable carpet. Lastly a play therapy sandbox is a great tactile tool to allow students to creatively express themselves. .
