My students do a lot of story writing and journaling and often what prevents them from staying caught up is the fact that they simply can't get to the store to buy their notebooks and supplies. And often they are on their own to purchase them, I want them to have a stress free experience when writing and creating stories, it helps if I just have the supplies they need already in the classroom. Also, we do a lot of independent reading and there are very few seating options for reading other than sitting up straight at a desk in a chair. I want to offer more options so my students can read in comfort and enjoy the experience of reading. The sticky notes are used in a lot of group work and my school does not offer these type of supplies for our students to use when collaborating...these are wonderful because they can be posted up on the wall with little to no effort and my student's words and thoughts are instantly on display and validated as relevant.
