I support students at G.W. Carver and Palmcroft Elementary schools who require additional assistance to learn how to coordinate their hand and eye muscles, tiny muscles inside their hands, and much more in order to complete their daily educational work. It may look like play, but it can be extremely tasking work requiring additional brain power to complete. These students amaze me everyday. My students’ kindness towards their peers, their pride in showing off their work to their teachers, their joy and full-bellied laughter, and their sheer determination- it is life changing!
The average student at either of these schools comes from a low-income household and relies on school for breakfast, lunch, and snack time. 50% of our school year is a hot & sunny 100+ degrees outside requiring additional ideas for indoor activities. I have 35-40 students per school. My project will designate which school in the description.
