I am an Early Intervention Counselor at an elementary school in the New Orleans Metro area. My job is to help students learn social and emotional behaviors that will help them succeed in the classroom and in life. A part of my job is also to help support the teachers and staff members of the school deal with stressors in their life and problems that may arise within the classroom. The school I work at is in a high poverty area, where many of the kids do not get many experiences. It is my goal to bring items into my office that will help students explore their creative side while also helping them learn to regulate their emotional side.
