As the middle school counselor, I provide one-on-one counseling, small groups, student check-ins, parent and staff support, social emotional learning activities, academic advising, and a host of other services to our Title 1 population. In my office, you will find a small group area, work tables, a few Chromebooks, art supplies, personal care supplies, and a host of other items. Everything in my office serves a purpose, and that purpose is to help my middle school students grow into the best version of themselves while also navigating the challenges that go along with growing from children into teens and young adults. Our counseling program is good, but I am working diligently to improve it every year.
