I have been so excited to offer my second graders space in our classroom to MOVE! Flexible seating options are an incredible way to give kids both CHOICE and VOICE in their learning.
My classroom is a warm and inviting place where my students enjoy having ownership of our day together. They are an integral part of making decisions about how we learn and the various tools we use. If you were to walk into our room on a typical afternoon, you would see kids laying on the floor reading, sitting outside in the grass with their iPads, or cuddled up on our carpet using clipboards to complete their work.
These alternative seating options have made a positive impact on my students. Now I want to move forward by giving them even more choices of how they learn best. For my Ðǿմ«Ã½.org project, I selected two standing desks for my kids who prefer to do their learning on their feet, portable floor cushions, scoop chairs to rock in, and wobble chairs for those littles who need room to wiggle.
I would appreciate any help in funding these flexible seating options. Thank you so much for taking the time to help teachers be the best they can be!
