I teach a group of 16 preschoolers enrolled in a full-day Head Start classroom. While they are all wonderful, unique individuals, they share one characteristic--poverty. Each year about 75% speak a language other than English. Last year the children spoke a total of 6 languages. They all love to come to school, make friends, learn through their play, and get ready for kindergarten. It is amazing how much a 4-year-old brain can learn in just one year--all while having fun.

About my class
