Hi Everyone!
I am a Special Education teacher within a high school in a high poverty community. I am the teacher of 10 wonderful students with severe disabilities. I teach in a self-contained Autism classroom where we work hard every day to build many skills. My students range from freshmen to seniors in high school.
To better prepare them for their futures' after high school, I want to give them activities that will teach them all of the essential skills needed to be independent. My students struggle with social communication, and are building their skills in math, language, reading, as well as many other functional tasks within the classroom. In order to give them real-life learning experiences that they will be able to relate to once they step out of the high school doors, I am hoping to bring a Coffee Cart business to our classroom. Starting a business with them will help them to gain so many essential skills that they will value and use once their are independent!
