I teach Gifted and Talented fourth and fifth graders in a self-contained classroom. I believe in using our community resources and work hard to develop partnerships with area organizations. My students are thoughtful, confident and inquisitive. They embrace new ideas and situations and are willing to take risks. They are supportive of each other and love to work cooperatively. My students are caring and culturally aware. They are receiving an International Project Based, Mastery Education. They take Chinese class three times a week and are involved in many non-traditional educational experiences.
My school is located in Columbus. Our school population is about 93% free and reduced price lunch. We have a very culturally diverse student population and our students come from all socioeconomic backgrounds. The staff and students at our school are so excited about developing this new Mastery Program and learning together using our newly provided technology and resources.
