These materials will give the students another opportunity to be exposed to the wonders of the world. The students can use the Scholastic News and Science Spin magazines and BrainPop Jr. videos to break out of our classroom and learn through the bright, rich photos, videos, and nonfiction information provided. By experiencing these far off places and learning previously unknown knowledge, we are opening up the world so that my students can "Dream Big"!
The Scholastic News magazines and BrainPop Jr. videos will be used not only as a whole group lesson, but during small group learning and also for research and reporting. Students will be able to use the magazines as a springboard for new learning. BrainPop Jr. also provides online activities and extension activities for each video. They will also be able to keep these magazines to expand their home libraries. These magazines will be used in a variety of ways to expand on the learning in our classroom.
By donating, you will ensure that students will be able to experience the broad world around them through the use of nonfiction text and videos. The students will be learning not only about the world around them, they will be improving their reading skills as well. BrainPop Jr. provides math and reading videos also. They will be able to keep the magazines and refer back to them throughout their education. Your generous donation will reach the students for years to come.
