I am Momma Cureton, leader of the "Cureton Crew." My students have a voice and choice. I teach with the most dominant voice in the room being the students'; the most important opinion in the room being the students'; the most important leader in the room being the student. Overall, my goal is to improve the quality of education for our children and evolve the classroom and its traditional structure into an independent learner, self-sufficient student model where students learn best as active participants, while the teacher is a facilitator and coach. My students learn through problem-based and project-based learning. They collaborate and communicate to solve problems much like they would in a professional setting serving as a team member. My students are empowered by their choices and the leadership that allows them to learn through interactions with their peers.
