I work in the large, urban Cleveland Metropolitan School District in Ohio teaching Physics to about 120 hard-working and motivated high school students. Our students are dedicated to their studies and this is shown through an extended school day and longer school year. The kids travel from all over the city to learn at our school with aspirations of higher education. Physics, especially Advanced Placement Physics, is a tragically underrepresented subject in high schools, and I do what I can to make it exciting, engaging, and fun. In my classroom, we try to complete one major physics lab per week centered on data collection and analysis related to real-world topics.
