My students with special needs are incredibly creative, animated, and insightful, but when it comes to writing, they often feel stifled, frustrated and defeated. My 14 students all have lower cognitive abilities combined with other disabilities. But these needs are no match for their big personalities and even bigger potential. They love to learn, are tech-savvy, enjoy participating in Special Olympics, make others smile on a daily basis, and are an integral part of our school culture.
