I love teaching 3rd grade math and science! I am that crazy teacher that lets her kids explore anything they are interested in. I am a little kid at heart, and am just as curious as the kiddos I teach - so I love when they ask me if they can create or research something new. I love inquiry based learning. Students learn best when they are given the freedom to explore.
Two years ago, I was Teacher Of The Year at my previous school. I have a Master's in STEM Education from University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em!) and a Bachelor's in Anthropology (Archaeology) with a minor in Geology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go 'Heels!). My honor's thesis "A Petrographic Study of Moundville Palettes" was published in Southeastern Archaeology in 2002.
