My students are always excited to participate in Music class when we play instruments. We have various classroom percussion instruments but we do not currently have a band or orchestra program at our school to expose our students to the art of playing wind or string instruments. The generous donation of guitars would give them the opportunity to learn to play stringed instruments to expand their learning experiences and build their confidence in playing. I currently have eight (8) classes that I would like to teach beginning guitar.(4 -Fourth grade & 4 -Fifth grade) Our goal is to learn basic guitar fingering skills to perform at our annual Spring Arts Festival.
MUSIC is what brings my students together. They come from all walks of life, and have many different personalities and interests. My school has a high rate of low socioeconomic students. Many parents can only provide limited necessities for their family.
