My classroom is a small diverse community of emerging bilinguals, so these are students who are developing English as their second or third language. We are striving to meet the rigorous task of navigating the tough years of middle school while preparing for higher level education. We learn together about language, goal setting, and contributing to our local and global communities. Something that we are lacking is consistent access to reliable technology in our ELD class (English Language Development). Many of my students do not have access to technology outside of school, so it is critical that they practice skills and learn the language of technology at school. Please help me prepare my students to be competitive academically and in their future careers by helping me reach my goal of a dozen Chromebooks dedicated to the ELD classroom.
