Research state that flexible seating is beneficial in not only improved behavior and more effective learning, but also in better health in students. This past school year, I had the opportunity to use a "wobble chair" for one of my students and could see that the results in improved behavior and effective learning were immediate! I decided I would like to expand on my flexible seating options for the next school year.
These new chairs, lap desks and table with area rug will offer a comfortable small group environment where I can get to know my students and they can get to know me along with the new educational material in a more relaxed way. When students are uncomfortable, they are distracted and unproductive. Comfortable students are calm, focused and productive. Math is often not the subject students look forward to the most. Offering them a comfortable space will help them relax and learn.
