Students in my school are the same as other students - curious, active, and wonderful. Working in a suburban school, I see the same mix of students that can be found across the United States, with different home backgrounds, values, and perspectives. Students enter a room wanting to learn, hoping to do well, and anxious to belong. Every year is a new group of students with individual needs, yet similar dreams. It is my goal to serve each of my students respectfully. Regardless of the school, the truth is that resources are often provided by the teacher, which we do with joy. However, external help is always appreciated and utilized. New books and materials to share with future, current, and former students are as exciting as any celebration gift. Changing his word weapon to gift I quote Nelson Mandela, "Education is the most powerful gift which you can use to change the world."
