My students are from a small, public, rural school in upstate South Carolina. My students are from a variety of ethnicities and backgrounds. They are extremely motivated to excel and compete with other students as they prepare to enter college, a military branch, or the workforce. Many of our students want to pursue careers in the medical field. Chemistry is a course that is required for them to pursue this type of career in the sciences. Our school has a very limited budget, that has further been cut due to lack of state and local revenue. I am very fortunate to have students that are this excited about chemistry. I want to be able to provide the best experiences for them that will allow them to be competitive with students from all over the country.
