I am the proud teacher of a 2-6 grade classroom of Deaf students with additional disabilities in Los Angeles. At Marlton School for the Deaf, we use an Amerian Sign Language and English Bilingual approach. My students' disabilities range rare syndromes, sensory processing, to physical and intellectual disabilities; yet with the right tools and patient staff, these young minds are capable of expressing incredible abilities. To achieve this, however, I need a classroom with specialized materials that reflects my students' many needs. I believe that success happens with a supportive community and Donors Choose always shows me the amazing power of community.
