My students live in an area that is still developing. Our school has a high Hispanic population that comes from the many migrant farmers that help pick up the tomatoes that surround the area. Many Hispanic families moved to this area because they have the ability to work in the fields and give their children the education that they were not able to receive. My students lack the experiences that many students in other areas have been exposed to because of the high poverty rate that is in the area. These students sometimes only receive one meal a day and are very grateful when something is given to them.
