My students are absolutely amazing. We serve an under-served community where most live in poverty. The students come in eager to learn, but many of them are unable to buy their basic school supplies because their parents do not make much. It takes a lot to get the students involved in the lessons if they are not engaging or hands on. They absolutely love to do projects to show what they know and have learned. Our school serves about 80% free and reduced lunches. Our school is amazing and very warm and welcoming. As you walk into the school, the students are eager to greet anyone new who comes in. It's so much fun to be a part of such a great place with such fantastic students. There isn't a ton of parental involvement as the parents work during the school day, sometimes even late into the night.
