I teach 3rd and 4th grade math and science, focusing on looping with my students for continuity in their learning experience. Our demographic is primarily rural, situated in a tourist area, where many families work in the service industry and often lack access to essential benefits. Consequently, our students frequently have limited exposure to diverse experiences outside our small valley communities. This lack of varied experiences can impact their academic achievement, with many challenges being generational in nature.
In my classroom, I strive to bridge these gaps by providing enriching activities and opportunities for exploration. The students are enthusiastic about learning and eager to engage with new information across various subjects. Their kindness and dedication to their studies are truly inspiring.
