As a school counselor in a high-need, Title I school, I work with students from marginalized communities, many of whom are immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and English Language Learners. My students face challenges like PTSD, trauma, grief, poverty, food insecurity, self-regulation, and autism. Every student qualifies for free lunch, and the resources we receive through Donors Choose are crucial.
