I teach a group of highly motivated, compassionate, and intelligent first grade dual language students in Illinois. My students are very observant and inquisitive. They enjoy interacting with the world around them in not one, but two languages. They learn best when they are having fun, interacting with other students, and working with hands-on materials and technology. We are a Title 1 school in a high poverty area, but that doesn't stop my kids from being inquisitive and working hard every day.
While my students come to school each day with economic and linguistic challenges, it is my goal to provide them with every opportunity for success. I am always trying to get my students up and moving around, exploring in small groups, working with technology, and reading, reading, reading! I work very hard to make learning as hands-on, engaging, and meaningful as possible to prepare my students for a very successful future.
