Over the last few years, our students have enjoyed and benefited from trips to New York City. They have had the opportunity to visit museums, eat at restaurants and attend broadway plays. One year, we were able to incorporate the Broadway show, The Lion King, into our reading, writing and social emotional curriculum. Our drama department capitalized on this experience by having four performances of the Broadway Junior version. Through fundraising, we have been able to support these culturally rich experiences by bringing down the cost for all students and by partially or fully sponsoring students who are not able to meet the costs. In the past, we were able to run candy carts to subsidize the funding. This year, I am hoping for a healthier option for fundraising. In an attempt to continue to bring more experiences and supplies to our students, I am requesting, through Donors Choose, a commercial air popcorn maker as a fund raising tool.

About my class
