This year I will use engaging children's literature, non-fiction articles, art activities, writing and technology to enhance our classroom (STEAM) science, technology, engineering, art and math program. Watercolor painting using art paper that can stand up to the paint will allow students to create and show their knowledge of animal and plant life in the ecosystems we study.
Students will find their own story in art as they read, create and reflect on people and events in our study of history. When students create memorable artifacts like a clay pot, they are more engaged in the natural resources used by the Native Americans we study. The new art resources I am requesting such as paint, paper and clay will provide deeper learning opportunities for my students.
