In our Elementary school library we have voracious readers. They are excited and anxious to read the latest books in our library. I have many students that request books for the library.
As their librarian, I want to provide my students with diverse books. We want a variety of genres and subjects. We also need books for many different reading levels. As my students range from Pre-Kindergarten thru grade 6, I need a variety of books. Having a variety of books will keep our students engaged in reading. I listen to my students and do my very best to find the books that will interest them. My readers come from many different backgrounds. We have a hospital and a university in our town. We also have many loggers and farmers in our community along with other professions. Our parents are as diverse as our students. My job is to find books and materials for these many diverse students and it's what I like the best!
