This project is to obtain creative seating and work spaces for students with disabilities within grades kindergarten through 5th. The seating that I have chosen is a balance ball that is designed to encourage students to learn and practice healthy posture while benefiting from active sitting. These balance ball seats help increase focus by keeping the body active and the mind engaged simultaneously.
The fidget toys that were chosen in this project are designed to reduce stress and fidgeting among ADHD, OCD, ADD and Autistic students. The fidget is designed so that a marble slides back and forth with fingers. They can easily be transported with students going from class to class throughout the school. This will allow students to attain more to tasks and instruction while reducing stress and sensory issues that arise.
The Lego bricks that are in this project are for students in kindergarten. Especially students that require constant reinforcement and short term behavior goals. The Lego bricks are a #1 recommended reward among ADHD male students within our school from past experience. We serve a ratio of 12:15 males with special needs. With this being said we need multiple sets of Lego Bricks available.
