We would like to use Rebecca Skloot's book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks as an anchor text for interdisciplinary course focused on Civil Rights. Our goal is to explore genetics and bioethics with this text. The course itself explores the Civil Rights movement in the United States while students pursue collaborative projects digging deeper into other social justice movements in our country. The course integrates history, English and science in a way that brings greater depth to all three subjects.
We would love your support in procuring a class set of the book! Thank you so much!
