Part of my goal in the upcoming school year is to have more purposeful technology integration in my classroom. Studies show that when students study programming or computer science, they perform better on other subjects, increase problem solving skills, and increase their chances of attending college.
Bringing these Dash Robots into our classroom will allow scholars to collaborate and problem solve with one another in a completely different way, as well as lay a foundation for future work in computer science. Dash will be used during multiple content areas. For example, in small math groups students can code Dash to move through the steps of solving equations where students subtract fractions with unlike units. In literacy, students can record themselves reading lines of poetry, and code Dash to move through those lines, programming colors, lights, sounds and animations that would depict the overall mood of those lines. There is truly so much that can be done with Dash, and we cannot wait to have Dash Robots in our classroom! Thank you for supporting my scholars.
