As a new developmental kindergarten teacher, I am excited to create a classroom environment that is inclusive and supportive of all my students. My students have a range of disabilities, including some who are non-verbal and have limited mobility. One of my students uses a wheelchair, and it is important to me that they feel comfortable and included in all classroom activities. Additionally, most of my students come from low-income families, which makes it difficult for them to access books and other educational resources at home.
Despite these challenges, my students are eager to learn and grow. They are creative, curious, and full of energy. I want to provide them with a classroom library that reflects their diverse interests and abilities. With your help, I can purchase books that feature characters with disabilities, books that celebrate diversity, and books that inspire a love of learning.
