Our school district's mission is to empower and engage all students to be contributing, responsible citizens striving for their maximum potential through relevant, innovative and rigorous learning experiences. I work tirelessly each day to make that mission a reality. My students come from a high poverty area, so I work twice as hard to create rich and meaningful lessons to give them the strong foundation they need. I am passionate about closing the achievement gap our students face. Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills will make my students the game changers our world needs! That is where Osmo comes in. When paired with an iPad, the Osmo transforms the area in front of the tablet into an interactive environment. The students will use physical objects in the area in front of the tablet to solve puzzles, spell words, and even draw. My students will be able to use the iPad and Osmo in small groups, and individually, throughout our school day. They will be able to learn and practice reading and math concepts while working collaboratively with their peers, strengthening important social skills. Our children spend hours each week on technology and Osmo makes sure that their screen time includes social, physical, and interactive elements.
