My school is committed to building a culture of achievement and following identified practices described in the book, "How to Create a Culture of Achievement". Adults and students at my school greet each other and visitors with smiles and offers of assistance. Every morning, one of my students is a greeter at the classroom door, shaking hands or hugging, and welcoming their fellow classmates. They understand that learning begins with feeling welcomed and accepted in their own classroom.
Our primary classrooms are surrounded by landscaped gardens that add to the inviting atmosphere at the school. Our school is almost at student capacity, and more apartments are being built at this time. I have a wonderful, diverse group of students, including some who are learning English as a second language and others with specialized needs.
