My choir students are in an Arts school in a large urban district in Ohio. We have high poverty and drop out rates that the district is working very hard to turn around. The students are very talented and enthusiastic about being in an arts school. Two years ago, we were accepted to a National Choir Festival in New York City at famous Carnegie Hall! The community rallied around us and we were able to raise a lot of money to make the trip! We also had bake sales every week and benefit concerts to raise money. My students are elementary school students, who are learning the basics of music education . They are very receptive and impressionable at this age. I think it is the best age to teach.
