My students are exposed to types of technology that, when I was their age, only existed in the imagination. They, for the most part, do not know the complete scope of the possibilities with this technology. They are limited by their environment and by the lack of proper education in these technologies for art. I am lucky enough to have grown up during this transition in art from purely traditional to digital as a viable alternative media platform for art.
My students see what is possible all over the Internet, but they do not have the means to learn how they can do this themselves. I want to give them the means.
