I teach second-grade in a high needs, urban, socio-economically diverse school district in which children enter having a variety of difference experiences. There are currently 21 students in my classroom but numbers do fluctuate. The district I teach for currently has two early childhood education centers, twelve elementary schools, two K-8 schools, two middle schools, one high school, a career center and an adult education center which serves over 10,400 students. There have been times recently when money was not provided to use from the government, which created a freeze on any money in the district. Let’s just say this is not a small school district, and there are many student needs.
