It's time for students to make the transition from Virtual Learning to Hybrid Learning in my district. I am a new school librarian and we are in definite need of more seating space in the school library. It is important to have more seating options available to be sure students are staying socially distant. The school was built in 1963 and the Media Center has not received new furniture since then.
The new seating area will allow students to socially distance, but remain comfortable while visiting the library. The material of the new seating will allow me to use sanitizing wipes to wipe the area after every use, so the area will stay sanitized and reduce/stop the spread of Covid-19. The signage on the floor will remind students to stay 6 feet apart when checking in and checking out books. These items will help the students have a safe library experience.
