Farmington Community School's
early childhood classrooms are
specifically designed to enhance the learning of young children. Developmentally appropriate curriculum includes language and literacy, math, science, music and
movement, gross and fine motor development, adaptive skills, and social skills. Students with disabilities, ages 3-5, are enrolled in my early childhood special education classroom in order to receive access to early intervention incorporating evidence-based practices, which allows for access to high-quality, inclusive services and increases opportunities for positive outcomes. My students have a range of disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, speech and language impairment, and developmental delays. These (and all) children learn best through play and through enriching and engaging hands-on experiences.
