I am a 5th grade teacher originally from San Francisco, CA. I graduated from University of California, Berkeley despite the statistics that state my community makes more mortars than leaders, and only three percent of foster youth graduate college. I joined Teach For America in 2012 because I truly believe that every child deserves a quality education regardless of their zip code. This is my sixth year teaching, and my first year being a classroom without a single classroom book.
