My second graders defy the achievement gap by outperforming their peers at other schools! I teach students from low-income neighborhoods in a high-performing school, and everday I am priveleged to be a part of a school that fosters our students' academic, and socio-emotional needs. Most of our students are Latino students who speak a second language, come from a variety of nuclear families where they live with extended families or single moms working two jobs, and have immigrated to the U.S. for a better education. Although they face many challenges, our students come to school excited and eager everyday, and excel in reading, writing, and math. We hope that you can be a part of our learning too!
About my class
