Student will learn about proportions and dimensions. Students begin by using scissors to cut out the bottom of the plastic containers and then a piece of sandpaper is used to scratch the surface. Once the surface is no longer smooth student trace a picture or draw one of their own on the surface. After drawing the picture students place a dot in each of the four corners of the plastic and measure the dimensions. The student place the graph paper underneath and use it to estimate the area of their drawing covered on the plastic. Then the oven is used to shrink the place and the drawing. After shrinking the diagram is measured again to find the new proportions and measurements.
