After borrowing two of these from another teacher, I immediately saw an increase in focus and time on task for two students.
One student increased time on task from 3 minutes with teacher redirection to 15 minutes with no teacher redirection. The students were able to wobble and move in their seats without actually leaving their seats. This minimized the disruptions to the rest of class, as these two students were no longer walking around the room or tapping their chairs aloud. It minimizes teacher redirection for misbehavior, and allows for positive interaction instead. Other students could benefit from these also.
