These resources will make a difference in my students' learning by offering them the opportunity to participate in a voluntary book club that celebrates a different aspect of diversity each month. The PERSPECTIVES Book Club encourages students to broaden their understanding of and build their appreciations for a global world and all of its people, especially in a school system that lacks diversity. November's focus will be on Native Americans, and our PERSPECTIVES Book Club will allow students to read, discuss, and connect socially as they share their insights about the book with other book club participants, their families, their peers, and their teachers.
