My class consists of 28, eager to learn students from various backgrounds and cultures. The majority of my learners come from a lower socioeconomic background and all of them receive free/reduced lunch (we are a Title 1 school). Most of my students generally do not bring adequate supplies to last throughout the school year and I end up having to purchase items to support these students' learning. I also have a large group of English-Language Learners (ELL) that need additional support in comprehension and English language development. My school does an excellent job of providing the required academic materials for my class; however, the restrictive nature of the funding makes it difficult to fund certain additional items that could enhance the student success of my class and help me provide a classroom environment/layout that promotes excellence. My classroom is spacious with space for plenty of learning materials.
