These bell sets will be used for concerts and for classroom instruction. We are using the Preschool and Primary Prodigies program, that requires each student to have their own sets of bells. It is a subscription video series that breaks music learning into easily manageable chunks and scaffolds it from preschool through upper elementary. In this series, the bell patterns are based on having rainbow colored bells. All symbol notation matches the color.
Without this bells to color connection, the program is less effective. Some of our schools have them and it makes a tremendous difference. The program teaches music reading, notation and solfege (sight singing) to the very youngest students, and creates a foundation for more advanced skills. Older students in grades 3-5 play bell pieces in the holiday concerts and compose songs using bells and xylophones.
