In case you don't know Bakersfield High, here's some background:
Our high school is the oldest in our community and has been a model of academic and extracurricular excellence for over 100 years. Our large student population of nearly 3,000 students is extremely diverse. We have students from many nationalities but our three biggest subgroups are Latino (58%), White (23%) and African American (14%). Many of our students are living in poverty and 57% are classified as socioeconomically disadvantaged. Over 20% of our students are English learners.
This school is packed with a rich history, and hard working students.
