I teach three sections of inclusion ELA with students who are from high poverty backgrounds. Outside of learning disabilities, these students struggle with broken families, drug abuse, addiction, violence and so much more. I have two students who are in foster care this year alone. They struggle academically, but once I reach them, they begin to take a renewed interest in themselves and their education.
