When it's time to get down to the business of writing, my students will be more empowered and motivated by having choices in where they sit. I know my students will be excited to have stools, cushions and wobble pads that they can sit on to focus and write. We will be able to use these items in all the stages of our writing process whether that is brainstorming, peer editing, or sharing.
There are so many benefits to incorporating flexible seating in the classroom including building an awareness for students of how and where they work best, increased motivation, and engagement.
I'm excited about giving my students the option to move away from their desk, have choices in seating, and continue to grow as writers.
